Part 4: Running Your SheerPower Program Other Computers

• To run your SheerPower SPSRC or SPRUN program on another computer for your own use:
  • Download and install SheerPower 4GL on the other computer.
  • Email or transfer your SPSRC or SPRUN program file to the other computer.
  • From the other computer, Double-click on either the .SPSRC or .SPRUN file to run your SheerPower 4GL program.

  Note: For security purposes, SheerPower programs can never be run from inside of any temporary folder. This prevents users from accidentally running malicious code written in SheerPower that a hacker could place into an email or a webpage.

• To distribute your SheerPower SPSRC or SPRUN program to other users:
  • The recipient must have the SheerPower Virtual Machine installed directly on their computer. The Virtual Machine can always be downloaded separately from SPDEV at www.sp4gl.com/download.htmlx.
  • You can email or transfer the SheerPower program files the same as any other file to the end user. You can even send the file in a .txt document. The end user must rename the file extension appropriately (either SPRUN or SPSRC). Then, with the Virtual Machine installed, they can run any SheerPower program file you send.

Hobbyists and non-profit organizations can always distribute SheerPower programs for free as long as they are not being sold. If you are selling your SheerPower programs, or using them for business or commercial purposes, a SheerPower 4GL License is required.
